They mean the same thing. .md is the file extension for Markdown, a plain-text format for headings, lists, links, and more.
Can I convert a scanned PDF?
Use AI OCR for image-only or scanned PDFs. Quick extract reads an existing text layer and cannot recognize text in images.
Will tables, formulas, and images be preserved?
AI mode supports these elements, but intricate layouts can need a manual check. Keep images enabled, then download the ZIP to keep image files alongside your Markdown. Local mode extracts text and basic headings.
